MikeBreen SMS Program
SMS Consent Process
Effective and last updated: September 14, 2026
This page documents the actual opt-in flow for the private MikeBreen personal-assistant messaging program. It is not a public signup form.
Program purpose
The program provides low-volume, non-marketing, two-way SMS access to a private personal assistant. Messages may include user-requested replies, reminders, calendar or task updates, requested source links, and operational notifications.
Who may enroll
Only the account owner and a small number of personally known, individually invited household users may enroll. Phone numbers from purchased, rented, scraped, or third-party lists are never used. Unknown inbound senders are not enrolled and do not receive assistant replies.
How consent is obtained
- The service owner contacts or speaks directly with an eligible user outside the SMS program.
- The owner explains the program's purpose and identifies the sender as MikeBreen.
- Before enrollment, the user is told that messages are automated; users generally receive zero to 20 messages per day depending on their interactions; multiple replies may arrive during an active conversation; and no message is sent on inactive days except a reminder or notification the user requested.
- The user is told that message and data rates may apply, consent is not a condition of purchase, and they may reply
STOPto opt out orHELPfor help. The owner provides the Terms and Privacy Policy URLs below. - The owner asks: “Do you agree to receive automated text messages from the MikeBreen Hermes Assistant? Please answer yes or no.” Only a clear “yes” is accepted; silence, an ambiguous response, or “no” does not enroll the user.
- After “yes,” the owner confirms that the user is enrolled and that a confirmation text will follow. The owner records the consent date, method, script version, enrolled number, and affirmative response.
- The owner manually adds the number to a private server-side allowlist. Only after these steps may the system send messages to that number.
- The confirmation text identifies MikeBreen, confirms enrollment, states that message frequency varies, and repeats the
HELPandSTOPinstructions.
Users are also given access to the Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy before or at enrollment.
Required disclosure
Opt-out and re-enrollment
A user may opt out at any time by replying STOP or directly asking the service owner to remove the number. Standard carrier opt-out keywords are honored. The program retains an appropriate suppression record to prevent unintended future messages.
Replying START may restore carrier-level delivery but does not automatically add a number to the private allowlist. Re-enrollment requires renewed authorization from the service owner.
